About Us
Hi, I’m Lee, I am founder and CEO at Walkies! and as I’m sure you can guess I am a dog lover and proud keeper of 2 large Mastiff’s.
Daily walks with my girls have always been a mixed bag as both my dogs have different temperament’s, they have different drives and respond to training differently, and so, I have always looked for ways to better plan our outings and co-ordinate with others.
There’s the joy of exploring new trails, but also the uncertainty of meeting other dogs and their owners. Should I let my dog off the lead? Will their dog be friendly? Are they in control of their dog approaching mine? These are questions that every dog owner has faced.
One day, I witnessed a confrontation between two dog walkers in the park—an incident that could have easily been avoided had they been able to communicate their dogs’ needs before crossing paths. This got me thinking: why isn’t there a simple way to signal whether we’re open to interaction or if we’d rather have some space?
That’s how Walkies was born; out of a desire to make dog walking a stress-free, enjoyable experience for everyone. With Walkies, you can send a clear message from a distance, giving you confidence and control during your walk. Whether you’re a seasoned rambler or a bit nervous about meeting other dogs, our mission is to create a safer, friendlier dog walking community. Walkies makes every walk a positive, worry free adventure, where dog owners and their pets can connect, or keep their distance, as needed.
